qualification of 3510 for single host non-dmp hosts

Does anyone know Sun's official stance on the JBOD version of the 3510 fc array (i.e. no controller card as listed in the 'basic' config on the store website)?

I've got email from Sun stating that the 3510 JBOD is not qualified for mpxio enabled systems (and isn't scheduled until October 2003), but what if dmp is disabled on a per controller basis - if there was only one link to the tray for instance. Is it still non-qualified?

Just wondering if anyone else out there has heard this and might know the answer
