Part # and model # would help along with number of disks installed, when full, part # of a disk and a general description of what you are looking at i.e SCSI, Fibre, number of trays, racks etc.

Still confused. Is there some sort of database where I can run part number to find out what piece of hardware I'm dealing with? All I have is just " Spark Storage Array" on front panel and PN and SN on the back panel. Joe

Does it look like this? http://sunsolve.Sun.COM/handbook_pub/Systems/SSA_101/SSA_101.html

If not, you can go to: http://sunsolve.Sun.COM/handbook_pub/Systems/

Look in the disk array section. Your SSA is most likely way down in the EOL section. Scroll way down.

The way these SSA's were shipped was based on the size of the drives installed. SSA101 had 1 gig drives, SSA 102 & 112 had 2gig drives, SSA 114 had 4 gig drives.
