Reset A3500FC

I have a problem with a "ghost" LUN showing up. When I try to use Raid Manager I get an error saying can n ot talk to controller. When I use the command line I can see one controller and it says there is a LUN, lun 8. When I try to remove this via the command line it says the controller has no luns? I have pulled the battery from the controllers, pulled the controllers, un-installed raid manager, re-installed raid manager and I still get the same results... the ghost lun.. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I undersstand that it had created ghost devices. The way ghost devices can be removed form the A3X00 is to call SUN Support person onsite and remove the ghost devices. SUn SUpport person come onsite with the serial connector and a LAPTOP which consist of the software which interact with the A3500 FC hardware/firmware. In some cases data may be lost for affected LUNs. So please make sure that the data is backed up properly before proceding with the maintenance/problem resolution.

There is a proper procedure which has to be followed for removing the ghost LUN.

I would recommend SUN support person come onsite and work on the issue.

I would be happy to answer further questions.

Sincerely,

poorna..
