Can I connect a Storedge DDS-3 to a Windows 2000 system?

Hello,I can buy at a good price a Sun StorEdge DDS-3 12-24gb 4mm tape drive, and i was wondering if i can install it in a computer with the windows 2000 professional.Many thanks!Miguel Andrade

sorry for returning so late to your question !

The drivers depend only partly on the DDS-3 drive.

Have you installed the driver for the SCSI-controller (Adaptec, Symbios Logic, etc.) ?

If yes, is the tape drive displayed under SCSI devices ?

Next step: Detect the tape device (icon on the control panel), which will add a second driver but now for the tape device.

The reason why the driver for the tape may be depend on the manufacturer of the drive, ist that for example HP has added some code to use the additional capabilities of their drives. But the generic tape driver (DAT) should also work.
