StorEdge A3500 thinks it is an A1000

hello all,

i have a problem with a StorEdge A3500 controller that has five D1000

attached to it. using the detailed controller information in rm 6.22.1 i

saw that controller A thinks it is a A1000 (it shows Product ID:

StorEDGE A1000) all other details a normal.

by default A is active and B is passive - in this situation i can only

see 8 disks (4 from tray 1 and 4 from tray 2 - all other 32 disks are

not shown). if i switch the roles of the controllers and make B active

and A passive then everything is ok. i can see all 40 disk, create luns,

etc.

firmwares of both controllers is the same:

. boot level: 03.01.04.00

. firmware level: 03.01.04.75

both controllers have the same product revision: 0301

do you have a clue what this could be ?

i was thinking of downgradind both of the controllers to firmware

03.01.02.35/03.01.02.33 but i am not sure if this will help.

thank you for your time!

hello all,

the problem has been solved. according to rm 6.22.1 release notes the module profile should show a revision of 003 for a A3500 array (both of my controllers were showing 0301). i installed the new NVSRAM and now everything is ok.

revision of the controllers can also be checked with:

raidutil -c device -i

thank you
