Sun X6758A UW-LVD(U160)-Controller woes

Hi,

did anyone try to hookup a non-StoreEdge3310-device to this beast?

I put it in a Fire280R and connected U160-Disks

& SCSI-IDE-Raids (U160), but none shows up (yes, boot -r).

& re-booting the Fire280R takes 40 minutes, spoiled my whole afternoorn :-(

Have you downloaded the drivers for this card? They are not present in Solaris 8 or 9 yet. Go to:

http://wwws.sun.com/software/download/allproducts.html

Click on: Sun StorEdge PCI Dual Ultra3 SCSI Host Adapter v1.0

Please read the following PDF as it contains above info plus patch info as well:

http://sunsolve.Sun.COM/data/816/816-2157/pdf/816-2157-14.pdf

This info, and more can be found on: http://sunsolve.Sun.COM/handbook_pub/Devices/SCSI/SCSI_Dual_Ultra3_PCI.html

yes,

found out this morning. The adapter ( 1K EUR) came

bare with Install-manual( grap your screwdriver...),

NO Software-cd ( 50 cents) & no Software-prerequisite

instructions. LOUSY

With all 4 packages & patch installed I see " a wrong magic label" :-)

Thanx

You might try the format command and label the disk, raid arrays typically need thisas depending on the specific configuration there is no format.dat entry. If you stillthink the stuff is junk I will buy it off you.
