How many kr/s and kw/s can the 3510 handle at an one moment in time?

Hi,

Backround information:

DA: 3510 RAID1

Veritas clustering

Oracle Database

I recently noticed a high iowait % ~ 50% on 6 of 8 of my cluster servers.

Performing an iostat command revealed that the sum of all kr/s for all cluster servers at one time was approximately 50000. Likewise the value for kw/s was approx 15000 kw/s with average of 5 %b.

I would like to know what is the theoretical maximum r/s, w/s, kr/s, kw/s that the 3510 can process at any one moment in time?

Any info would be appreciated.

The 3510 can take a lot of iops and a lot of MB/s. However you aren't specifiing the type of i/o, how many disk drives, etc. I'd guess you're probably hitting a limitaion on the iops available to a set of disk drives....but hard to say.
