Help Identify SAN Fiber Switch SANB-16B-004-WM

Hi All,

We have just check and we have a mixture of qlc-pci1077,2300 and qlc-pci1077,2200 HBAs and dual Sun FC 16 port switches.

I found that they are either 1GB or 2GB Qlogic HBAs on Sun 480, 490, 880 and 890 systems on our floor.

Our 3960 has been stable for the last 3 years, but last week it got pretty sick. :-)

Can somone identify our switch: SANB-16B-004-WM

That is the model number on the front.

I can't see anything in the back. Maybe this weekend we will remove it and look at the bottom.

We want to determine they are 1G or 2G SAN FC Switches. Maybe we can replace the switch to 2G without upgrade to a 69xx model.

Thank you.

John

Could you see any barcode stickers on the switch? I think you may be running 370-4276, which is the supported 16 port FC switch for your array. This box is based on the ancor SANbox-16, perhaps a hint - SANB-16B from your model number. Another way to tell the speed of the switch is to see if you have GBICs with SC interfaces installed.

Yeah, perhaps Sun will have a record of the hardware that was originally purchased for your site, the SSE may not have this information though. I will post to your other thread tomorrow as well, don't test storage performance with the mkfile command, it doesn't give a realistic idea of I/O performance.
