LTO-3 barcode labels for SSE C2 loader

Hi,

I am about to order a StorEdge C2 tape loader from Sun. I was wondering if I also have to purchase the barcode labels from Sun or if I can just get generic ones from a different vendor? I can't justify to spend $2,400 (or whatever discount we might get) on 20 tapes.

Thanks.

Huh?

That's $120 per LTO cartridge.

They're to hold your company's critical backup data.

CDW = $141.99/tape without barcode (Certance brand name)

I can't find LTO media at NewEgg.com

Quantum has them for $140/tape (Quantum brand name)

However, HP's website suggests they may have them for approx $55 per cartridge. (HP brand name)

<a href="http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product.asp?sku=2423338&amp;pagemode=ca" target="_blank"> http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product.asp?sku=2423338&pagemo de=ca</a>

If you can get singles from HP, give it a shot.

Lastly, go back to your Sun sales rep and try for an answer direct from that source.

This is just a user-to-user forum.
