Merged Topics:Can someone compare D1000 versus SE3320

I have to find out why a D1000 is better than a Storage 3320. At the moment we use T3. Who can help me? Thanks!

The D1000 is not a better array than either of the other arrays mentioned. It is HVD scsi at roughly 40 MB/s transfer rate with no RAID controller option. The price of a used D1000 would be the only pro that I could think of for using that array.

The T3 uses fibre channel and the others are scsi, so a better solution may be to use a 2Gb/s 3510FC array.

It's a good array, but this type of array is directly attached to the host computer and would have limited scalability compared to the fibre channel arrays. However, it does support up to 12 300GB disks at 320MB/s, so performance should be really good.
