does qlc driver support SNIA 1.0?
I am facing problem at customer site.
Subsequent calls to HBA_GetNumofAdapters() returns 4 more adapters. There are actually 4 qlogic hba's.
(my application loads SNIA hbaapi library once, after specific interval it calls HBA_GetNumofAdapters() & other hba apis)
I suspect that either it is bug in qlogic hba driver, OR qlogic hba driver is not attached to hba's and if qlc driver is attached to qlogic hba, does it support SNIA 1.0? i.e. is SNIA libhbaapi library able to load/communicate with qlc driver?

This is a developer related issue and not Sun Storedge hardware related. Furthermore if this is a Qlogic driver and not SUNWqlc ( or equivalent ) then the issue should be taken up with Qlogic.

What does your /etc/hba.conf look like? How about "modinfo | grep ql" ? Oh, and I think that this is a StorEdge related post being Sun has closed the StorEdge software discussion and directed people here.

This forum is aimed at hardware related issues, such as disk/controller errors or configuration issues, not library calls! Driver support for SNIA 1.0 is in fact software related, the post clearly reffers to this software library. I also suspect that the reference to 'qlogic driver' may mean that these HBAs are not Sun OEMs, in which case the question doesn't belong on a Sun hardware forum.

I appreciate your contributions, Lyle.
Keep them coming.
(How about posting your ASC/ASQ link separately
and I'll pin it to the top of this forum?)
However, I still see StorEdge links at the Developer Forum site.
<a href="http://forum.sun.com/index.jspa" target="_blank">http://forum.sun.com/index.jspa</a>
In particular...
<a href="http://forum.sun.com/category.jspa?categoryID=7" target="_blank">Storage Forums</a>
... and in there are sub-forums for hardware questions and for software questions.
<a href="http://forum.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=153" target="_blank">Sun Storedge Discussion</a>
<a href="http://forum.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=182" target="_blank">Sun Storedge Software Discussion</a>
They appear to be current and relatively active.
This particular <a href="http://supportforum.sun.com/" target="_blank">SupportForum</a> site has historically been for fundamental issues with Sun-branded hardware, rather than for more involved customization of configurations, or tuning, etc.
<i>"does this HBA go with this array?"</i> sort of question.
I believe that is what Martin was referencing.

Bill, none of the links you provided worked for me, I even tried to browse the entire developer forum without success ( Dec 20th 20:00pm ). Did I come accross that I thought Lyles' post was unwanted? To be frank, I was just making a point that has been made here over and over - throughout these forums; "don't post unless hardware related". I still maintain that this original post may cover Qlogic produced software and any additional APIs are developer related, not hardware.

The links worked for me.
I <i>did</i> happen to notice that during the entire day of 20-Dec, there were some time-outs, and an occasional replacement web page that announced PLANNED maintenance work.
(Perhaps they were checking that Developer web site
after the unplanned outage seen at THIS site this past weekend.)
This is how I navigate over to there...
1. I open the Solaris 10 Forums link at the side of this page.
2. That will present me with five sub-forums and some postings.
3. The top of that page shows me a linkage through the Developer site, in a small font. The text is:
<font color="green"> Developers Home > Developer Forums > Solaris Forums > Solaris OS > Solaris 10 > </font>
4. I click on "Solaris Forums" and will then see the entire roster of those forums.
(Which is the same as my <a href="http://forum.sun.com/index.jspa" target="_blank">http://forum.sun.com/index.jspa</a> link, as I mentioned above.)
Does that work for you?

That work now without any problems.
