If you look at the Sun System Handbook, SCSI section of the V890 full component list you will see option X6541A. This card is supported with the A1000 array, so you will have to buy and install this card in order to run the A1000 on V890. You may need to check Solaris support for the version of RAID Manager that you plan to install, I am not that familiar with EOL DAS units.
The A1000 went EOL (was discontinued) in June 2004.
No more were manufactured since that date.
The V490 and the V890 went GA (were newly and Generally Available) in September 2004.
Those dates are all shown in the respective resource links of the Sun System Handbook.
Sun's V890 documentation would not be published to look backward in time when it described peripherals.
Take Martin's guidance and just go ahead and configure it.It will work very well with the V890.
Hello,
the A1000 is unsupported (=doesn't work) by Solaris 10, because the support was removed.
The last and recommended version that supports the A1000 is Solaris 9.
Another choice is to "downgrade" the A1000 to the JBOD D1000. This requires replacing the RAID controller in the A1000 with 375-0008.
