L25 drive information
I have an L25 jukebox connected to a V880 server running Solaris 9 and Enterprise Backup Software 7.2. When I configured the device,I set the media type to LTO Ultrium 2, thinking that this would allow me to use both LTO 1 and LTO 2 tapes. The LTO 1 tapes work fine, however, just recently, I purchased some LTO 2 tapes but I am having trouble getting them to work. When I put an LTO 2 tape in the L25 and it checks it's inventory, the device recognizes the tape's label as an L2 (so the barcode reader appears to work fine). However, when I look at the drive information on the LCD screen of the L25, it shows the tape drives as being HP LTO 1. The backup software shows the tape drives as being LTO Ultrium 2. When I inventory the jukebox via the software, I get the error message "Hardware Error, Mechanical Positioning Error." And the LCD on the jukebox displays "Error code 26C9" (or 26C8, depending on which drive it tried to load the tape into). I believe the problem is the tape drives being set to LTO 1 and not LTO 2. How do I fix this? Do I need to replace the tape drives? I've reconfigured the jukebox many times via the EBS tool, jbconfig, but nothing's changed. I don't see any setting on the jukebox itself that will allow me to change this information. Any help would be much appreciated.
