Hello Jennifer,

is this a IntraServer (for Sun) or LSILogic board ?

In the past the IntraServer (division of LSILogic) cards used a "license" prom. If this prom is not present or is the wrong one, the driver ceases operation -- it won't attach.

I own two ITI-6100L. The first one has a license prom for Sun (IT-6100L-US) and the other is for VAX-VMS systems (ITI-6100L-UV). The ITI driver for Sun Solaris SPARC won't attach with the ITI-6100L-UV.

Hello Jennifer,

I use LSILogic card LSIUltra320.

How can I know if prom is prosent or right? If not, how can I do?

devfsadm: driver failed to attach: itmpt

The driver name starting with it probably means that it's (=the driver) from/for IntraServer.

If it's an IntraServer card, it's printed on the back (solder side) and there is a white-label with the P/N (model) and S/N.

I would suggest that you contact LSILogic support or at least review the LSILogic web site. There are links to IntraServer (a division of LSI Logic) as well.

Hello Jennifer,

in the meantime I have reviewed the LSILogic website.

The latest driver is from November 1st. The itimpt or itmpt (not sure of the correct name in the documentation) should support the LSIU320 (no "special" IntraServer controller required) with Solaris 2.6 or higher (nothing about 64-bit support, which was added in Solaris 7 !?).

Did you a reconfiguration boot (boot -r) or devfsadm as root?

Maybe it's just the missing device-node.

Sorry for the confusion !

Michael

Hi Michael,

Thanks very much.

Yes. I have reboot system by boot 齬 as root. Still nothing shows under /dev/rmt, looks like no device node.

I have contacted LSI support and sent them many ok prompt result and system boot messages, and still wait for their advice.

Thanks again.

Jennifer
