T3 Disk LEDs
Would like to get some advices about the following issue:
My T3 disks' LEDs are green, but 9 disks except the first disk are
blinking fast. There is no I/O activities on the T3 at all(It actually
doesn't connect to any host). If I umount the vol on the T3, then LED
blinking stopped.
Not sure what the problem is. The LEDs suppose to be solid green if no
I/O activity.
Thanks for advice!

hi Norman,
what version of firmware do you have on your T3 and is it a T3 or T3+? also, you mention the first disk doesn't blink, is this the first disk on the far right or left? if on the right, this 'normally' is set to be a hot spare for the array.
with later versions of firmware (think it was 3.1.2 off the top of my head, so could be wrong) Sun introduced 'disk scrubbing' which basically is a process that runs in the background all of the time, checking on the partity of the T3 volumes. this process does make all of the lights in the volume flash. if you have one volume say with 8 disks within, it's got a good chance that this would account for this.
give us some more info on the firmware level and volume configuration you have within the T3 and we can try and look at it closer if you wish.
Cheers

Hi, thanks a lot of the information.
It is T3. NOT T3 plus. It is the disk that on the left not blinking. All night disks are created as one raid 5 volume.
Suppose it uses the lates firmware(I cannot access the T3 Comm port right now). Is it normal that 9 disks blinking except the left one?
Also is there a way to turn the 'disk scrubbing' process off?
Thanks again!

Norman,
can you provide the following from your T3 :
fru stat
vol stat
sys list
sys stat
I would say it is not 'normal' for the far left disk not to be flashing, however this *could* happen under certain scenarios, so please post the above and we'll go from there

Norman, I would check with the items I suggested you post to ensure that this is the case and you have not had a disk failure, which is rebuilding to the spare
