incorrect opening of .doc
Hello!
The enclosed document is written with Word. When I open it with SO8 it gets mixed up. I think the problem is the tab-stops. It seems the original has a tabstop at 13.5 and a second userdefined (?) at 14. It also seems that on some lines blanks are used instead of tabstop, so it could be said it is somewhat sloppily written.
Nevertheless, I think SO8 ought to be able to open it without mixing it up!
Any ideas?

The Support Service was able to reproduce this behavior with own testing conditions. In order to have this problem corrected in one of the next versions, it was forwarded to the StarOffice[TM] Quality Assurance and Development teams for further testing.
The reason for this problem points to the file filter for MS Office documents. Not all formatting options which MS Office offers are currently supported. Therefore, the document display can appear slightly different.
The inquiry was forwarded to the Development teams for optimization. This feature should be completely integrated in one of the next StarOffice[TM] versions.
Until then we only can recommend to re-edit the imported document manually.
Please note:
The conversion into other file formats may result in loss of content or formatting. These discrepancies cannot be prevented for 100% because this involves the handling of different software from different manufacturers. Differences in functions and behavior can always exist which cannot be completely accounted for.
