Footnotes problem

Hi,

I have a problem formation my footnotes with StarWriter 7 (also 6).

Formating footnotes has the Before and After option. That works fine, I齦l see the text I need, [ ], in front and behind.

But I need this format also within the document. Anyone know how to do it?

Yes I know, manually it is possible, but not a good idea coz auto numbering wont work in that case.

Thanks,

Tazmania

Hiya :)

Footnotes can be formatted under "Tools - Footnotes" in a StarOffice[TM] Writer text document. Here, on the "Footnotes" tab page, it is possible to apply square brackets to the AutoNumbering in the "Before" and "After" fields, for example. This will allow the footnote number to appear between brackets before the content of the footnote (e.g., [1] ...).

This formatting option is intended to be applied only to the footnote content, and not to the text on the page. This feature has been implemented in StarOffice[TM] so that the footnote and its content can be differentiated from the footnote within the text, if desired.

However, if square brackets or other characters should be added to the footnotes within the text itself, this can be done so manually. The manually entered characters are formatted as text and will not influence the automatic numbering of the footnotes whatsoever.

We appreciate your input and have forwarded this information to the StarOffice[TM] Development team for a possible feature enhancement in one of the future versions.

Thank you for the input. I would much appreciate if the StarOffice[TM] Development team would take care of it, because this a often needed feature in technical publications, PhD thesis etc.

Its so sad, the final version of SO8 was released and still nothing has changed. :(Requested that feature first in beta status of StarOffice 6, now we have v8!
