Update 2 Problem

I've downloaded 120187-02.zip and run so-8-pp2-bin-windows.exe. Everything seemed to go okay, but--looking at the dates on the files--I can't see any evidence that my installation of StarOffice 8 has been updated. When I repeat the procedure, after okaying the legal statement, I get a reminder to stop any StarOffice applications (including quick start). When I click OK on that, a get a note that the installation has been aborted and the installation is incomplete; try again later.

When the installation succeeds, does Help|About show that Update 2 is installed? (My current Help|About page doesn't say anything about Update 2.)

Assuming that I've never gotten a good installation of the update, any suggestions on how I can make this happen?

Don't know if this will do it or not, but it's worth a try and might reset some of the registry entries.

Run the ORIGINAL installer (from the program files [setup.exe] or the add/remove programs list. Select the "repair" option, have original StarOffice disk ready, if installed with that. Let that complete and then

try the update file again.

Hopefully that will set things right.
