Can't install .jar upgrade on Windows for SO 8 upgrade

Patch Installation Instructions:

1) Exit all StarOffice applications.

2) Execute the patch installation program by running so-8-pp2-bin-windows.exe

3) Restart StarOffice.

The downloaded upgrade file is 120187.02.jar about 130 meg.

But so-8-pp2-bin-windows.exe doesn't exist on my computer.

So how can I install this upgrade?

Try to get the file again.

I just pulled it down, using the link in that README file you linked, above.

That gave me a 120187-02.zip file in my destination directory.

I happened to select FTP download, instead of HTTP download, but only because that was the first choice.

I also did NOT pull down the signed patch.

See the attached BMP file, captured from my WinZip program.

It's the contents of the zipfile.

I didn't get a .jar file.I got the expected executable.

You have downloaded the signed file (*.jar). To open it you need a special tool from sun.Download the ZIP-File (1 line above).
