SO7-pu5 quickstart puts entry in Autostart

I start the SO7 quickstart by a registry entry in HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Window/CurrentVersion/Run

After installing PU5 I started noticing that when the quickstart started Writer started as well. Some investigation showed that (beginning with PU5) quickstart adds an entry in the Autostart folder that runs Writer.

Is this behaviour a bug or a feature, and (if the latter) can I turn it off?

Autostart is normal. If you want to use the registry entry, you can deactivate the normal behavior in context menu of the trash icon or in Tools-Options-SO-memory. Perhaps the names are not right, I use a German version.

Well my problem is this: I have 300 PC's with Deep Freeze that protects the files from beeing altered. Sure I can walk around and un-freeze them and change things, but it's not an option I look forward to doing.

But I notice (on un-frozen PC's) that if I de-select the "Load StarOffice at System Start" the value (obviously) is remembered at next reboot and only the quickstart (from my Run-line) is run.

So the question is; what file or registry key is altered when I select (or de-select) the System Start ?

If I could find that out I could perhaps distribute that value or file through the login script.

Oh, and this behaviour started with PU5 so something regarding the quickstart changed there.

I could revert to PU4 but then I loose the bug fixes and the ODT options.

I use SO8 (German). But, as I remember SO7 PU5 puts no entry in the registry. Only in autostart folder. If you deselect the option autostart, this entry will be deleted.

No, SO7 doesn't put any antry in the registry. I have.

And deselecting the autostart option is not an option, unless absolutely necessary, since my machines are frozen.

And, again, something changed the behaviour in PU5 since this didn't happen in PU4 (it's possible PU4 also put an entry in Autostart, but that didn't make Writer start with my setup). It'd be nice to hear if someone knows what (and why) and if there's some file I can backrev from PU4 to fix this without breaking any fixes and ODT.

It seems that if I deselect the quickstart during a fresh reinstall, and later apply PU5, it works as expected in regards to the quick starting.

However when saving a document I get a BASIC error a number of times (10-15) before the document is saved.

I don't see this in PU4, but I'll do some further testing.
