Registration for Each User WinXP Star Office 8

Hi,

I have just installed Star Office 8 as Administrator on a Windows XP computer. When I first Ran Star Office as Administrator is asked me to register which I did, the program ran for a second time without asking me to register which was great.

However when I log on to the computer as other users I have to complete a registration wizard, I don't want the pupils to have to do this.

Is there any way I can disable this registration wizard or automatically complete it so the pupils don't have to.

Many Thanks

Stephen Brannan

Hi Stephen,StarOffice is always installed as a network installation, that means that each user who starts the desktop integration recieves the new registration windows. This comes up once for each user and is not possible to have a way around it.

It is possible to get rid of the registration. you have to first accept the license agreement by leaving the user fields blank and by choosing I do not want to register. Then you have to copy the Staroffice8 folder from %USERPROFILE%\application data\ into each new user profile. A simple batch file can accomplish this. Try also copying it to the ALLUSERS profile application data folder (Have not tried yet)
