Star Office 5.1 web page design

Ive succesfully uploaded my webpage onto the net using the what you see is what you get software in star office.

Im having difficulty adding other essential items to the page like a counter through this program. Has anyone got any tips?

ive pasted a couple of html codes into the star office template that ive saved but, alas, it stays in html code when i upload it. im totally new at this and im sure i must be doing something wrong.

Any advice much appreciated.Ady.

I haven't used 5.1 for a while, but I am guessing you are pasting the html code into the "what you see is what you get" editor. You should switch to the html code (view menu, html) before you paste the code.

In the WYSIWYG editor, place the cursor at the location you want the new code. Then switch to the HTML view and the cursor should be in the same location. (I think) Then paste your new code.

Hope this helps.

thanks for that. I figured it out a couple of days ago having read a bit more about html. knowing where to insert into the code is the key.I also needed a web counter code which was 'server side' which I managed to get.

If anyone would like to offer their opinion on my site, its situated at:

Im stuck on another problem now on 5.1I tried to get hold of the instruction manual on the sun website without success. What I want to do now is place an image/photo onto the web page and write text next to/around it. I got as far as inserting an image box on the web page but for some reason, the image doesnt appear in the box although it is definitly imported into the star office photo/image files. all that appears in the image box is the name of the file and an anchor.WHY?merde.I dunno.

I am looking at buying a more up to date web design suite in the next few weeks(such as Front Page or easy gen). For the time being, Im hoping to get by with this.

Anyone that can remember how to place images into those template designs on 5.1 is a saint.by the by,im using a centered homepage if that helps!(probly not.)

ady.
