integrate with desktop?

I just got star office 8 and used to have star office 5.2. in 5.2 I could integrate with the desktop. Can I do this with 8.. because I could start 5.2 and it would show me my desktop and icons and background pic and everything. I haven't found how to do that in 8. I can only start each part of it seperately. did they get rid of this option? I liked it.

it was soffice.exe to start it. I found the program in the folder but it only opens this small window that is nothing like I wanted
