Copy Function Invokes Network

When copying a drawing element or text item, SO8 initiates some communication over the network (StarOffice 8 running on Windows XP). This slows down normal copy/paste capability and reduces productivity.

Why is this happening - and how does one control it (i.e. switch it off!)...?

Hi JALGregory,

we are not able to reproduce this issue.

So happened the same for e.g. in the Wordpad ?

Are there any path from StarOffice which are located in the network ?

How is Staroffice installed ?

Are the documents , which should be open on the network drive or local ?

I have the same problem. staroffice 7 with PU6 and staroffice 8 with PU2. both are fresh installs and I've done numerous tests to narrow this down to some kind of network 'thing' that is happening. when I open files it takes up to 20seconds longer to open the same document that it would take without a network being present. When I cut/paste within a doc, staroffice is reported as 'Not Responding'.

I have the same issue on 3 computers, all running XP and all have 1GB Memory and a fast proc. I don't have this problem on either of my Solaris x86 installs, so must be something with windows and network.

There are many of my colleagues experiencing the same thing and I'm sure we're not the only ones!!!
