Staroffice Base Problem

Hello dear Community!

I've got a problem with using staroffice 8 base.

I created an new database out of a staroffice Calc sheet(*.ods).

The programm created a database file(*.odb).

Now the problem is, that i can read all values within base but I'm not able to select and change values. Changing entrys is only possible if i open the sheet itself...(write protection is off in the attributes of the document(s)).

Has anyone a suggestion how i can change this?

Thank you,

Boris

If you don't need Calc's math functions then save the Calc file as type dBase and use Base to register that file's directory as a data source. Edit/delete/add will now be available.

I "connected" to a Microsoft Access database, and I have a most satisfactory table and report in your "base." But I can neither alter nor add to this database using StarOffice 8. The imported data is apparently in "Read Only" mode.

How can I make this imported data independent? is this even possible? The file is huge. I don't want to reaccomplish it.

Thank you.
