Network on Latitude D600? (Broadcom 570x)

The graphic and sound were correctly detected and works flawlessly. However, the network doesnt work. Any hints? I can not plumb the card. If I "ifconfig -a" then it prints

lo=: flags=20001...

inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000

There is no other network device or anything. I have also tried to download the driver from www.broadcom.com but it seems to conflict with another network thingy. Any hints?

Also, i would like use virtual desktop. When I "kdmconfig", it seems to use "xorg server". But there is no /etx/X11/xorg.conf to edit, so I tell the size of the virtual desktop. Any hints? Where is the config file?

Ok, I solved the problem. Here is how:

Network: I downloaded the solaris driver from www.broadband.com. I installed it, and it asked whether I would like to overwrite som existing files. I answered yes, and it installed. Then I typed "sys-unconfig" and answered questions about DHCP etc. After rebooting, I could surf on the internet.

Virtual desktop: there was no xorg.conf to edit so I did "Xorg -configure" (from command prompt with no X running) and got a xorg.conf to edit. I put in one line, describing the virtual desktop specs. After rebooting, it worked.
