Problem when I login in JDS

I have installed Solaris 10 u1 x86 with AMD 450 Mhz and NVIDIA Geforce MX but when i am doing login with root( dtlogin) I get two screen saying:

"There was an error starting the GNOME Setting Daemon.

Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly.

The Settings Deamon restarted too many times.

GNOME will still try to retstart the Settings Daemon net time you log in"

When i ran in failsafe session gnome-session I got:

#gnome-cleanup

#rm /var/tmp

#gnome-session

Window manager warning: Log level 32: could not find XKB extension.

** (gnome-panel:1151): WARNING **: Unable to load panel stock icon 'gnome-fs-directory'

After this I can go to the desktop but There are some icons missing.

Somebody knows which is the problem and how can i fix?

Hello.1) This problem seems to be very common under Linux, too => Maybe you find answers there.2) Does login work well if you log in as "ordinary" user?3) If yes: Which is the home directory of root?Martin
