Installing Solaris 10 01/06 on Dl 380G3
Hi
We have a HP Compaq DL380 G3 server. The server is configured for Hardware Raid (RAID 5 and a Spare Disk). This is with a 5i Controller.
We have downloaded the Device Update (DU) for 5i Controller and Solaris 10 x86. In Solaris 10 x86 there is an option to install the driver (Option 5- Apply device updates).
We have used this and after the identification of the system, the installation is proceeding. Sometimes we are getting a message that there are no disks present and sometimes we are getting "unable to cmd: /usr/sbin/sysidput" and the installation stops
I have also downloaded the Device update for Solaris 9 changed the foler name from Sol_29 to sol_210 but still the problem continues.
Anyone provide help on this.

I encountered anther problem on the similar hardware, DL386 G4, with latest firmware( Issued on 10/10/2005).
The process always stops at 14% with installing with CD or 99% with intalling with DVD, how to solve such problem, may somebody provide help.
I hereby thank you in advance.

Do not install in GUI mode. I've answered this so many times already.
