x86: IDE Harddisks > 137 GB

Hello.

I am running Solaris/Sparc. On Sparc the "LBA48" hard disk addressing mode is not supported. Therefore the hard disk size is limited to 137 GB for IDE/ATA hard disks.

For SATA, SCSI, FCAL, USB, FireWire and other harddisks the 137 GB limit does not exist.

I am planning to install Solaris/x86 on an x86 machine and I want to know if IDE (not SATA) harddisks > 137 GB are supported by Solaris/x86.

Support for LBA48 was added to Solaris 9 x86.
