Question about using the Solaris DCA Diskette.
hi there.
Trying again to install Solaris 10 01/06 on a HP ML 370 server, I followed the tip suggested in the HCL about disabling ACPI with the DCA diskette from the CD 2 of Solaris 9 x86.
What I did was to delete the whole devices reported as ACPI. Then, when I was asked to choose the device where the Operating System was, I selected my CD drive, but I am receiving a message about there is not any hsfs VTOC. So, the installation can not continue.
My doubt is, Do I have to define any special setup to be able to boot?
Is it valid to use the DCA when Solaris 10 01/06 uses grub to boot the installation?
Thanks in advance for any help.

A DCA floppy cannot be used any more to boot Solaris 10 1/2006 or newer.
To boot Solaris 10 1/2006 with ACPI enabled, disabled or partially disabled,
boot the kernel with option "-B acpi-user-options=0" (0: acpi enabled,
2: disabled, 8: acpi enabled, but not used to reconfigure pci devices).
When booted from the optical install media, append ",acpi-user-options=X"
to the kernel's boot command line - the command line on the CD/DVD
already passes some options using "-B install_media=cdrom"
To edit the kernel boot command line from within GRUB, press the 'e' key
twice.

Thanks for your answer J.keil
I have already tried that, but a problem that is resulting is that when I use the acpi-user-options, installation fails saying that can not configure network interface (I have previously posted a message about this issue.)
Would you have any hint about it?
Thanks again.
Kind regards.
