You've posted your question into the Solaris on x86 forum.So... you are attempting to install Solaris 10 onto a computer with either an Intel or an AMD cpu module, I hope, and the machine has a drive that can read DVD's instead of one that only reads CD's. I ask that because others have tried to get their CDRW drives to read a DVD disk and then post a complaint into this forum when it fails (believing that it's somehow the fault of Solaris that the attempt failed).
Is the disk commercially produced DVD media?
or did you download and burn your own disk?
If you downloaded the files, did you follow the instructions that guide you how to join the parts together before burning?
How did you burn the disk -- what computer program? What burn speed?
Additional information could help me or anyone else decide whether we can help.A brief and cryptic "it doesn't work" does not give any information at all.
I have had the same problem. I downloaded and followed all the instructions. I used Nero to burn it to a DVD in my DVD R/RW/RAM Drive. I get the same error message.
If I browse the DVD from Windows XP, it seems to have been created OK, I see all the files. It just refuse to run the install from a boot. The message is as per the comment made by the previous message on this thread.
