Display Problem

Hi,

I am a novice user. This is my first experiance with solaris.

I installed Solaris 10 on a Intel 915G chipset with Pentium 4 EM64T processor. The installation was successful. When I boot the machine, the boot process shows no errors, but it shows the message,

"Starting Desktop login at Display :0"

and the display goes off. nothing is coming.

What to do now, please help me

Hi,

Ensure that ur mouse and keyboard is working fine, if it so then it will be the problem of display configuration

Boot into sigle user mode by entering b -s

Use kdmconfig command to reconfigure the display driver, resolution etc. Use can use the comman driver to configure the display if the excat driver is available. After configure the driver reboot the machine or come down to Single user mode and come back to runlevel 3

Read the erro logs /var/adm/message and /.dt/log
