Thanks for the suggestion, but it is misleading and does not answers question at all - the need is to include kstat into the custom version of Perl, that can be distributed later. if anyone has relevant information I would really appreciate an answer!

Exactly.

Since the functionality is already in the OS, there is no need to create a separate "program" in PERL.

If there were, then a version of it would likely be available for download at the SunFreeware site for example, and it is not there.
