Virtual PC and SUN

Hello my name is Chris Tison. I am a SSG in the US Army. Currently I am working as an instructor at Ft Gordon, GA. One of the classes we instruct the students on is Solaris. I am currently the SME for this class. I have decided to rewrite this course as it is outdated. I want to instruct the students on the Installation of Solaris 9 in the new rewrite. We are using SUN Sparcs to teach this block of instruction. My question is 2 part:

1. Has anyone ever heard of Virtual PC that runs on a SUN machine? I know I can run a Solaris Image in VPC on a X86 machine.

2. If there is no way to run VPC on a SUN machine. What are the options to having my students install and uninstall Solaris 9 (over and over again) on a SUN Sparc? To me that seems like to much trouble down the line.

1. When you say "SUN machine" I assume you mean SPARC vs x86. Nope, never heard of any one creating a VPC for SPARC Solaris.

2. Using real Sun SPARCs to install Solaris is the way Sun teachs it in SunEd. You, the instructor, can put everything back the way you want for your next class by JumpStarting from image or flash archive. No substitute for actually loading the OS and manually configuring disks IMHO. Using text install (ok boot cdrom - w) really speeds thing up so you don't have to wait for graphics to load.
