Hello Juda,

<i>I try to Install Solaris 10 on UltraSparc-IIi-Engine ...

it get stuck after configuring devices and stay stuck</i>

Which model (UltraSparc-IIi-Engine is only the platform name) ?

Remove any add-in boards that aren't required.

Boot with the verbose option (<b>boot cdrom -v</b>).

Hello,

I can reproduce the error on one system (440Mhz module, Creator 3D). A second system (333MHz, Creator3D) works with Solaris 10 3/05 (both disk and CDROM). A third system (440MHz, PGX64) boots Solaris 10 3/05 from CDROM.

On the first system Solaris nv_16 is installed and running fine. At the time of installation the system was equipped with a 300MHz module. After installation the module was replaced with the 440MHz module.

Trying to boot Solaris nv_16 from CD is now unsuccessful, but booting the installed Solaris nv_16 from disk works !

All systems are SPARCengine Ultra AXi and use the same OBP version (3.10.13).

A search in the bug database at opensolaris.org was unsuccessful (no hits).

If your system or Solaris 10 are under support contract (spectrum or software plan) open a case with Sun.

Hello,

just an update. I have further investigated the issue.

The system running Solaris Nevada (nv_16) is now booting Solaris 10 3/05 from DVD (haven't tried CD, but should work as well).

The Creator3D was replaced by a Raptor (PXG32) - no change, spinning "forever" after <b>trapstat0 is /pseudo/<a href="mailto:trapstat&#64;0" target="_blank">trapstat@0</a></b>.

Issued <b>set-defaults</b> at ok-prompt - boot cdrom now doesn't hang after <b>trapstat0 ...</b>.

The Creator3D has been re-installed and Solaris 10 still properly boots.
