Solaris 10 DVD does not see my SATA drive.

Hello!

I wanted to install Solaris 10 on Samsung HDD connected to SATA PCI controller. The controller is based on Sil 3112A chipset. If it helps it has a RAID function built in, however I don't use RAID. I boot computer from DVD, I think just after setting the root password, Solaris install script tells me that I do not have any disks powered up or something like that. Is there any way I could install Solaris 10 on my HDD? I do not want and will not use IDE converter stuff.

This has already been discussed a bazillion times.

There is no support for those drives until Solaris 10,

and even in Sol10 it is problematic.

Please search these forums, using keyword <u>sata</u>.

Additionally, try the link to the Solaris 10 forums at the side of the page, and search inside there as well.
