SunOS Log System

Hi Folks,

Where can I find what caused my system to hang up?

This moring I found my Sun OS freeze..

Where is the log file to check when this type of incidents happens in the system?

I already check the /var/adm/messages file to check for memory issues. I found nothing.

Is there any log in the system so I can monitor?

Thanks,

Amir

It could be that any errors are being sent straight to the console, therefore, if you do not have a console hooked up you will miss then,

Suggest you connect a sun workstation, use TIp to connect to the A port from the B port (documentation on sunsolve) and then run script <filename> for a couple of days and check what is put into the file.

I have come across something like this before if etrust (SEOS) is installed. If this is the case, then you might have to reinstall SEOS from stratch to cure.

You will get better results if you post to a forum that is appropriate for your question. This forum is about a software tool called "Live Upgrade" (hence, the name of the forum); it is not a general Solaris forum.
