Jumpstart SUNWCXall without Gnome

Im building a load of headless servers (a mixture of t2000's and v490's) - and our vendor specifies the SUNWCXall cluster. I mentioned to them about Gnome, and they're happy for us to not install it (so long as /usr/lib etc. is untouched).

What's the easiest way to accomplish this in my jumpstart profile? i've a feeling i'll be putting in a lot of "SUNWgnome... delete" lines :(

Cheers,

Rich

You know about /var/sadm/system/admin/.clustertoc? To see where Gnome is. As least as far as the Gnome I installed a long time ago via the Sol 8 Supplement, you will be typing delete a lot.

I haven't installed Gnome on Sol 10 yet. It sucked so bad under Solaris 8, and building Firefox turned out to be a monumental PITA, so I just throw Linux on whenever I need a desktop.

You might ask them specifically what libraries they need. In the /opt/sfw pile-o-stuff, gnome is a prerequisite for just about everything, as it is in a lot of Linux distros too.) But usually the vendors just don't know. We had Siebel tell us we had to install SUNWCxall. I call BS This just means their support is too lazy or incompetent to know what libraries are required for their application to run. As far as we can tell Siebel runs OK under the Programmer's cluster.
