panic during network boot of V490 server

All,

I have a V490 UltraSPARC IV+ running 4 @ 1.5GHz processors and 16GB of RAM. I'm trying to boot it to a diskelss server running Solaris 9 09/04 clients, and get this error message every time I try to do so:

krtld: load_exec: fail to expand cpu/$CPU

krtld: error during initial load/link phase

panic - boot: exitto64 returned from client program

Program terminated

{3} ok

Any ideas? Clues? I tried the Sun Solve website to search for clues, but as always it was completely useless.

Thanks all,

Make sure you got bootserver to be Solaris 9/05. anything less than that will not work.

This error is caused by the OS not recognizing the CPU type, its solved by getting a later hardware release of the OS you wish to install.

Also, you could go to the following URL:

http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_public

.. and verify what versions of Solaris your hardware supports.
