different solaris releases
Can some body help me to point out major differences between solaris 7, 8 , 9, 10. Actually this is the most common question of interview and also this is required if some proposal needs to be suggested to customer for upgrading to latest solaris version.
Cheers

Start out with searching for "What's new" in the booktitles on
http://docs.sun.com/ [1]. That'll take you back to Solaris 8, probably
the oldest version you'd want anyone to upgrade *to*.

One major thing is hardware support. They also add new features (ie: Solaris 8 introduced Flash Start). They also include apps that were not used before. Solaris 9 uses WU-FTP instead of the default one, and has SSH and LDAP available for setup. 10 I am not familiar with but I know they revamped a lot of stuff (inetd, zones, saf, dtrace, a bunch of stuff).
