I'm trying to install a Sun OS 4.1.1 Rev B fom tape in a SPARCstation 2, but after install SunOS mini-root, it shows this message:
can't find /usr/share/lib/ketables/layout_21 and
can't find /etc/rc and the installation can't go on. What can I do to solve this problem?
I hope ypu may help me.
I am having an old sparc 1 machine "part of a medical equipment"
And lost the operating system "old CMT tape"
Need badly to have the operating system.
If you can guide me where to buy or download it

I fear you are completely out of luck.
Sun OS 4.x was NEVER available as a download.
It was always <u>sold</u> directly by Sun.
Sun stopped selling it eleven (11) years ago, in 1995.
Sun stopped providing any support for it in January 2000 (six years ago).

You will need to hope that someone offers such an antique item at an online auction web site.
Ebay is an example of such a web site.

Now there is another exact sparc machine near by.
Is it possible for me to copy the whole hard disc from that machine to mine ?
From one hard disc to another .... that is.
