SUN 220r console access

Hi,

I recently aquired a 220r, unfortunately I have been unable to accessthe ok prompt in order to start an install.

I dont have a SUN keyboard to initiate a STOP A or N or monitor.

I am using a blue Cisco cable connected to a RJ45 to 25 pin Dtype connector. I know both of these to work on other SUN kit.

Please help...

I hope you have read the stickies on the SPARC Workstation forum?

the "blue" cisco cable is a "crossover cable" via RJ45? never tried that way... you have tried this combo with other Sun boxes?

of course, you tried "control + break" ?

Hi,

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Unfortunately I am still unable to connect to the 220r.

I buzzed out the cable according to the stickies and sure enough this was incorrect.

I have since made up a cable and followed the instruction to the letter but still no joy, I even tried hyper termin from a another pc just incase.

Somebody please help.

Thanks
