V120 problem

Hi,

I will start by introducing myself first, I'm Timo, i'm 19 years old, I live in Holland, and I'm currently working at a Linux company.

I currently have got a problem with my V120.

When I boot up my server I get the following message:

Sun Fire V120 (UltraSPARC-IIe 648MHz), No Keyboard

OpenBoot 4.0, 1024 MB memory installed, Serial #52408907.

Ethernet address 0:3:ba:1f:b2:4b, Host ID: 831fb24b.

That's normal, but after that, I see the "Initializing memory" message for a few seconds and then nothing, the message just disappears. And the terminal screen stays white.

In the LOM mode I used the bootmode diag function. Then it starts checking and everything works fine (I get no errors). And the servers wants to start booting from net. Since I don't have a PXE boot lan server, this is a problem.

Can anyone give me answers to this 2 questions:

1. Why doesn't the computer boot up normally with the normal boot option?

2. How can I set boot cdrom from the LOM console?

Thanks,

Greetz Timo

Pretty sure you should set bootmode forth, then this will drop you to the OBP (OK>) prompt. From there you can boot cdrom.
