sun 280r front door

Hi,

This may seem like a stupid question but how do you open the front

doors on a SUNFIRE 280R.

The instructions say "Unlock the front doors and swing them open by

turning the keyswitch to the Power-On/Power-Off position."

I have tried this and cant open the doors (ive tried all 4 switch

positions), does any one know what am i doing wrong?

Cheers,

Amit

Not stupid, but funny! Have you tried pulling the left door a little harder? Pull it by the bottom of the door, towards the center of the server ( the split between doors ). Avoid pulling the plastic panel, it can break easily.

I recall my first time with a 220R door, I searched through the handbook trying to figure out if there was a latch or screw holing the door shut it was so very very tight, put a bit more effort into it and it popped open!

<b>NOTE</b> For anyone wishing to post questions like this, please avoid posing in two seperate forums, it is confusing.

Bill may be able to merge the threads later.

I deleted the other posting.

It was in the Workstation forum and the 280R is not a workstation.

The answer was provided in this thread.

With the forums tools provided to me, I can merge and/or split topics within the same forum.I cannot move a posting from one forum to another.

That tool disappeared with the forum schema change, Spring 2005.

... broken javascript, just as you see when attempting to customize an edit by clicking a formatting button. (manual FUD code still works, though)

Absolutely! I should have mentioned that myself, I think I am intoxicated from all the Christmas Turkey I ate in the last couple of days!
