There is a D1000 configuration option for Sun Cluster that two hosts are attached to two D1000s. In this configuration each hosts is attached to each array using two HBAs ( 2 * X6541A per PCI host, HBA 1 attached to interface 1 of D1000 A and HBA 2 attached to D1000 B and opposite on the other machine ). The first array would be data and the second array would be mirror. I'm not sure about configuring this scenario with a running server involved, it could turn out to be a nightmare. Another option would be to use AVS to mirror the running database to the second array, this could be done online, but you would need to do a reconfiguration boot on the running database server in order to pick up the disks in the second D1000, then you would have to configure that array with SVM. Ever thought of a SAN?
