Netra t1120 Console Access?

all -I have a netra t1120 server and am wondering what type of cable and serial port settings i need to have in order to console into the box. if you have information on the part number or where i can get a cable please let me know.thanks!

I would recommend using 530-2889 DB25 to RJ45. If you are planning to attach to a Sun workstation, such as an Ultra 60 I would use two of these adapters and a null modem cable 370-4903 ( rolled cable ). If you are attaching a PC then use 530-3100 DB9 to RJ45 on the PC.

Where are you based? The components are not listed in the catalogue or my Swedish pricelist anymore, so it is unlikey that they can be ordered through a sales channel. You can use standard items available through many on line stores, here's a google search:

The items mentioned by Martin may just not be available for sale as separate items.They'd only be available as repair parts [ FRU's and CRU's ] for customers with service contracts or for those willing to pay Sun's prices for them within a cash basis non-contract service case.

... and in <i>those</i> circumstances, pricing is deliberately set at exhorbitant levels, to keep them only for service contract customers.

The 530-2889 adapter, in particular, has always been such an item.

With a Spectrum login to Sunsolve, go to the SSH, then look at the bottom of the Netra T105's Exploded View. That's the only place I ever remember seeing it in the Handbook.

Thanks Bill, I have suggested that forum users use these parts before and I just assumed the parts were available, but having looked through the pricelist etc. I realize that these parts were only available with some rackmount kits. I keep two in my toolbox, but I also have a few of the non Sun items that do the job just as well!
