Problem with a SunFire V880

Hello,

Since few days, I have A SunFire V880 which stops alone.

There is the last message written in /var/adm/messages before the reboot:

todds1287: [ID 429363 kern.warning] WARNING: Power button is pressed, powering down the system!

But, nobody pressed on the button.

Did somebody already have this kind of problem?

Thanks for your answers.

Guillaume

Either 1 of 3 things is happening here.

1. You have the server setup through the RSC and some is having a laugh and rebooting the server remotely.

or

2. You have a faulty power switch

or

3. There is another bit of hardware that is causing the issue

You will almost 100% have to log a support case here, but before you do make sure that you pass the server through max diagnostics 3 or 4 times and record the console output as this will assist the engineer that handles you case.

Mean sense of humour to pull a trick like that...
