Sun Ultra Enterprise 450 server

Can any one please answer this can i boot the 450 in 32 bit if i am running solaris 8 .any help will be very helpfull. Thanks in advance .

I don't think so... but why would you want to? you have 32 bit software?the E450... along with every other sparc since the U2 is 64 bit....haroldkarl

Yes, the E450 can boot into 32-bit mode, and Solaris 8 supports a 32-bit

mode. See the following table:

As for why you might want to do this, is that you might have a 32bit application that your older server just can't run anymore. You might have an E450 laying around, so you want to move the application over with the least amount of fuss. Am I close?

ok boot kernel/unixshould do it and then use isainfo -kv to verify.
