Fatwire in Portal Server

Hi!

We have added the Content Management portlets provided by Fatwire to the JSTabContainers using the PSconsole GUI. Based on the documentation we should now be able to see the new portlets in the portal server , using this url :

http://<server>:port/portal/dt

using the default : fwadmin/xceladmin account.

When we click on the url, we still see the old samples (Enterprise, Community and Desktop), the new Fatwire CM portlets are not included.

Is there an extra step that we are missing to be able to view the new CM portlets in the portal ? After adding the new portlets to make them "visible in the portal" using the PSConsole GUI, what should we do next ?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Which version of portal are you using ? You should see the porlets after adding them to the desktop. They should be visible in the administration GUI when you add a new channel/portlet. They will be named cs.?. There are about 15-20 portlets that get added to the list once a successful install has been completed.

Which portal - tab of portal did you add the portlets to? Did you make sure, that your portal is configured using localhost and any other hostname? FatWire Spark only ships with a license file valid for localhost. Check <fatwire installation dir>/futuretense.ini for error messages.

Here are the FAQs:

There are also a docs about all post installation tasks and for configuring Spark with Java ES 2005Q1. I don't have them at hand, but they are included in the Spark documentation package.

PSConsole GUI is a new feature with Portal 7, so I assume that you are using Portal 7. Fatwire is not available for Portal 7 yet. The installer does not run correctly. There should be a new version for Portal 7 out soon.

In the mean time, you can use the latest Fatwire release with Portal 2005Q4. License files for non-localhost domains are available for free from fatwire. Just email them a request for a new license. The address is softwarerequests@fatwire.com.
