Creating a new portal trouble with authlessanonymous and url.

Hi.

Authlessanonymous:

Ive created a new portal using this description: http://swforum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=63427&tstart=0.

The only thing I did different is that I first created a new appserver instance, to use a different domain name and ip address.

I now have two instanses using http://url1:8080and http://url2

Now Im trying to view the portal using: http://url2/myPortal/dt?desktop.suid=uid=myAuthlessanonymous,ou=People,o=testOr g,dc=my,dc=org

When I try this URL, I get redirected to http://url1:8080/amserver.

The portal displays no error, and neither does LDAP nor appserver. Anyone who knows how I can redirect it to http://url2/amserver?

Url:

Anyone who knows how I can fix the url to a nice format?

Id like to use http://url2and see http://url2/myPortal/dt?desktop.suid=uid=myAuthlessanonymous,ou=People,o=testOr g,dc=my,dc=org

Best regards

Kristian

hi kristian,

when you create a new portal, you don't get the authless setup that comes w/ the default portal; you must configure it yourself. my guess is that you are seeing the login page because there is no authless user configuration on your new portal.

if you go to /psconsole, portals->myPortal->desktop tab, then select "top level" in pull down, you will see the authless configuration. essentially, what you need to do is 1) create the user accont for the authless user, and 2) designate it as an authless user account on this page.

when you say desktop.suid=..., you are just naming one of the possibly several users designated as authless. yes, this url is ugly. there is no workaround for that.

You must also restart the portal instance for it to take effect.
